Vaping has emerged as a significant public health concern, with the WHO estimating over 100 million users globally in 2025, including approximately 15 million adolescents. Misleading marketing and social media advertisements have perpetuated misperceptions about the health risks of vaping, driving uptake particularly among adolescents and young adults. This paper reviews the current evidence, regulatory landscape, and clinical guidance, highlighting that regulatory interventions alone are insufficient, as the heterogeneity of regulatory environments across countries limits the applicability of blanket recommendations. A multipronged approach encompassing expanded pharmacotherapy options is needed. While no standardized vaping cessation guidelines exist, several countries are extrapolating from smoking cessation frameworks and expediting pharmacotherapy approvals, recognizing the urgency of addressing this growing epidemic.
