The 86th Scientific Sessions of the American Diabetes Association (ADA 2026)

Survodutide, a glucagon receptor–glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) receptor dual agonist, significantly reduces body weight and liver/visceral fat in individuals with obesity as well as those with obesity and at-risk metabolic dysfunction–associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD) in the phase III SYNCHRONIZE-1 and SYNCHRONIZE-MASLD trials. The data, presented at ADA 2026, also demonstrate improvements in cardiometabolic parameters indicating broad benefits associated with survodutide treatment. 

A fixed-dose combination of the novel amylin receptor agonist cagrilintide and the approved GLP-1 receptor agonist semaglutide (CagriSema) yields better HbA_1c control and weight loss in patients with type 2 diabetes (T2D) than either therapy alone or placebo in three phase III trials from the global REIMAGINE programme presented at ADA 2026. The benefits also extend to patients on insulin therapy.

A meta-analysis presented at ADA 2026 supports the benefits of hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT) for ulcer healing and reducing the risk of major amputation in individuals with diabetic foot ulcers (DFUs).

The use of mazdutide among adults with obesity results in a clinically significant weight reduction and improvements in cardiometabolic risk factors, with an acceptable safety profile, as shown in the phase 3 GLORY-2 trial presented at ADA 2026.
