Differential Diagnosis

The following conditions should be ruled out in the diagnosis of epilepsy: 

  • Convulsive syncope
  • Migraine headache
  • Nonepileptic seizures (eg metabolic, mental health disorders)
  • Sleep disorders (eg narcolepsy)
  • Transient ischemic attack
