Differential Diagnosis

The following should be ruled out in diagnosing myocardial infarction with ST-segment elevation: 

  • Brugada Syndrome
  • Early repolarization
  • Hyperkalemia
  • Left bundle branch block
  • Left ventricular hypertrophy
  • Myocarditis
  • Pericarditis
  • Preexcitation
  • Stress-induced cardiomyopathy (Takotsubo Syndrome)
