Indications: Treatment of rocky mountain spotted fever, typhus fever and typhus group, Q fever, rickettsial pox and tick fevers caused by Rickettsiae; respiratory tract infections; lymphogranuloma venereum; psittacosis; trachoma; inclusion conjunctivitis; uncomplicated urethral, endocervical or rectal infections in adults; nongonococcal urethritis; relapsing fever. Treatment of infections caused by Gram positive microorganisms: Chancroid, plague, tularemia, cholera, Campylobacter fetus infections, brucellosis in conjunction with streptomycin, bartonellosis, granuloma inguinale. Treatment of infections caused by E. coli, Enterobacter aerogenes, Shigella spp, Acinetobacter spp, respiratory tract infections caused by H. influenzae; respiratory tract infections & UTI caused by Klebsiella spp; upper respiratory tract infections caused by S. pneumoniae; anthrax. Alternative treatment of uncomplicated gonorrhea, syphilis, yaws, listeriosis, Vincent’s infection, actinomycosis, infections caused by Clostridium spp. Adjunct to amebicides; severe acne.¹
Contraindications: Hypersensitivity to tetracyclines.¹
Special Precautions: May result in overgrowth of non-susceptible organisms. Discontinue if superinfection or phototoxicity occurs. May increase incidence of vaginal candidiasis. Diarrhea. Pregnancy and lactation. Children 8 years of age or less.¹
